Turquoise cuts across the face. Burnt orange pushes against green, mustard and blue.

The body begins to dissolve into the room until two extraordinary black eyes pull everything back to the figure. The painting belongs to the wider Swedish colourist tradition in which colour was allowed to outrank accurate description.
